This weekend, my daughter and I went to a special “Mommy and Me” Valentine’s Day painting class at Artsy Doodle, and it was exactly the kind of quality time we needed.
If you’ve never been to a painting class like this, let me tell you—it’s such a fun experience. Everything is set up for you, from the design to the supplies, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself.
Unfortunately, Aubs has inherited my perfectionism, so there were definitely a few moments of frustration when things didn’t turn out quiteeee the way we wanted. But with a little encouragement (and some giggles along the way), we reminded each other that it’s about having fun, not being perfect. (Something I really need to focus on remembering.)
Life has felt so fast-paced lately, and it’s been hard to find time to just be. But this class gave us that rare opportunity to slow down and connect. It reminded me why making time for moments like this is so important, even when life feels overwhelming.
At the end of the class, we walked out with two paintings that were far from perfect but absolutely perfect to us. Aubrey keeps asking where we're going to hang them up in the house. 😂
If you’re looking for a way to bond with your kids or just want an excuse to do something creative, I can’t recommend classes like this enough. Artsy Doodle made everything so easy, and it was such a joy to focus on the moment and leave the rest of the world behind for a little while.
Here’s to more little adventures like this—and to holding onto the memories that make our hearts smile. 💕
