A Gentle Reset: How I’m Starting 2026 Softer.

January always feels like a blank page to me. Some years, it arrives like a wave of motivation, accompanied by a pretty new planner and BIG dreams for the future. This year, it’s quieter. I’m craving slower days, easier routines, and a solitude that makes me feel safe and grounded.

I didn’t stay up until midnight journaling goals or overthinking resolutions. I spent it with family and let myself be in the moment. There’s something comforting about giving yourself permission to just be as you are, where you are.

Right now, my version of “reset” looks like this:

• Lighting candles in the morning.
• Putting on cozy layers I feel good in. (In my mom robe era.)
• Making the house feel warm instead of perfect.
• Choosing books instead of endless scrolling.
• Writing tiny lists instead of grand expectations.

This isn’t a productivity sprint. It’s a gentle return to who I am after a year of completely losing myself.

I’m learning that small moments matter more than big declarations. The cup of tea that tastes just right. The walk outside, even if it’s freezing. The messy bun and leggings routine that becomes a daily uniform. The quiet decision to let this January unfold without forcing anything.

If you’re craving that too, you’re not alone here. Let’s start this year slowly, intentionally, choosing warmth over hustle.
