Cozy October reads I’m loving this week. Romance, nostalgia, and a story that always makes me cry.

There’s something about October that makes reading feel extra cozy. The days are shorter, the air smells like leaves and cinnamon, and I find myself reaching for books the same way I reach for a warm blanket. This week, I’ve been reading a few different things that I'm hoping to wrap up soon, so I can move on to more books that feel perfect for fall.

Before I Do by Sophie Cousens

I’m about a quarter of the way through this one, and it’s already pulled me in but still feels like a slow burn. I actually got it at a “blind date with a book” event a couple of months ago. The main character is about to get married, but right before the wedding, someone from her past shows up and completely throws her off balance. It’s messy, funny, and surprisingly emotional. If you like stories about love, timing, and the chaos of choosing your person, this one is worth adding to your list. I'm actually really nervous to see how it ends.

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

My husband and I have this little ritual lately where he reads to me while I’m in the shower (we call it bathroom time) or when we’re winding down for the night. It’s one of those small, sweet things that makes life feel softer and helps us connect (& comes highly recommended by our therapists 😆). Right now we’re reading The Phantom Tollbooth, which is one of his childhood favorites. It’s clever and whimsical, and even though it’s technically a children’s book, it’s full of these beautiful lessons about curiosity and imagination. Hearing him read it out loud just makes it even better.

The Timekeeper by Mitch Albom

SHOP

We actually just finished this one together during bathroom time, and I swear I cry at the end every single time. It’s one of my favorite books because of the way it reminds you to slow down and really live. The story follows the first man to measure time and how he learns the value of every moment. It’s short, simple, and completely heart-shifting. If you’ve ever caught yourself wishing for more time, this book will stay with you long after the last page.

So that’s my little reading lineup this week. A bit of love, a bit of nostalgia, and a bit of magic. Exactly how October should feel.
